I have been buying this soy protein for two years so far it's not bad for the price. I like it divided into four packages that are easy to store the rest. However, for this last purchase, one package was leaking badly because a hole was mistakenly punched on the package, making the rest of my items in the same purchase all covered with soy powder. It was a real mess since it left a long trail of powder from the mail area to my apartment. Amazon has since kindly replaced the item.Muy buenoI use this for smoothies and it’s just what I was looking for! I love not having a bunch of additives and sweeteners. The flavor is mild and the texture is NOT gritty or “mealy”. I highly recommend.I've tried various protein powders over the years and have recently been comparing and contrastingseveral very different types including: Naked Seed (from the people who make Naked Whey and Naked Rice), Sprouted Brown Rice Protein, High-Fiber Hemp Protein, Fermented Pea Protein, and Grass-Fed Whey Protein Concentrate.I began to question my prior pick, Sprouted Brown Rice Protein, due to the bitter flavors in the powder. As far as I'm aware this is a leftover concentration from the fermentation process which is actually healthful, but it was a bit oft-putting and I thought maybe I had a mild reaction. It could be psychological and from the flavor, however.Of all the proteins, this Soy protein is by far the most neutral. It is VERY clean and pure to all my senses. This makes sense since it is an isolate and the others are not, but it's purity and neutrality leave me with a very good impression.Upon sampling a hefty serving I have noticed no gastro-intestinal issues in comparison to some of the others.I feel as if it is a healthful pure and clean protein of the highest standards and anyone who is wary of soy should give it a try. Just because a lot of over-processed soy junkfoods give the crop a bad name, good products like this exist that people should not shy away from.I changed to Bob's after I noticed my previous soy had a fair bit of sugars in it.Bob's soy is clean, doesn't taste terrible in water and mixes into water very easily. I stir it into water with just a drinking straw.Good for my health but tastes like pure chalk plain! I like add flavor such as a banana or fruit to liven taste buds a bit. Make sure to take with lots of water because it tends to coagulate faster than other less concentrated protein shakes I've had in the past.I bought this because the Amazon picture of the packaging for one bag had the "nonGMO Project Verified" symbol.I received the product today and verified on the Bob's Red Mill website that this is no longer the case. I haven't decided whether I am not I am going to return it. GMO products are generally used to allow Roundup/glyphosate herbicides.Bob’s Red Mill Soy Protein Powder is a plant-based protein powder containing only one ingredient: soy protein isolate. It has a whooping 16g protein per serving (1/4 cup), which sounds fantastic at first, until you try mixing it into something and tasting it. This product should have a somewhat neutral taste, but it’s blandness really stands out even after it had been mixed into something. It overpowers any protein shakes and oatmeal you try to eat, and that bland taste is even to want to make you stop consuming whatever you’ve made entirely. I’ve also noticed that it doesn’t always completely mix into my food, and can occasionally find more than a few clumps of protein powder still remaining. If you can get over the incredibly strong taste of blandness (or have something sweet to combat it), I think this is a good product. I think it’s worth trying, at least, but thats totally your own discretion as I’ve have mixed reactions with this protein powder.
