This has been a fantastic addition to our smoothies. I really didn't want something that added any sweetness to our smoothies, just added protein. This does the job and adds a bit of thickness to them as well. We love it and I will be reordering soon.9-10-18 Editing this to say... this is the brand I return to again and again. I just bought two different brands at Costco and they are both terrible! Some nasty, fake, chemical-y flavoring and grainy. Just disgusting. And disgustingly sweet. Swanson’s is such a nice natural flavor. It blends in perfectly with anything else I add to it from fruits, to nut butters, to flax, etc. And I can add my own sweeteners to it, or not, depending on my own taste preferences that day and the sweetness of the other ingredients. Why did I waste my money on that other crap?? This will be the brand I stick with.This was recommended to us by a nutritionist who sold a different brand in her shop, which was far more expensive. She said that the Swanson Whey was very good quality and what she used for her teenage boys at home. My boys love it. I think it is good when you add something cold or frozen to the shake, and a tip if you do make a shake in the blender blend your fruit and milk first then add the whey powder and use a less aggressive stir mode otherwise you get too much foam. This is a great between meals snack for growing kiddos, enjoy!I find this protein powder to be relatively tasteless, which can be good or bad depending on the circumstance.The upside to tasteless protein powder is that it can be thrown into savory meals to boost the protein and the "vanilla" flavor won't throw off the meal. I sometimes add this to steel cut oats (which are topped with butter and salt) and it blends in well and I cannot taste the vanilla.The downside is if I simply want a protein shake without any embellishment, the flavor of this whey protein will not do. It is bland and watery. I have to stevia as a bare minimum to make it palatable for me. It is even better if I add berries or a scoop of cocoa.Still, I have reordered it because it does fit into a variety of meals and if I want a standalone high-quality whey protein that tastes great I choose Bluebonnet (vanilla flavor).I love the flavor and a good buy for the money.I like the the ingredients. The flavor is good, though I never drink it without adding something to it. It blends smooth~ not gritty at all, which is super important to me. Really great value for the price.I wouldn't be using this if not for a meal plan I am following. The taste is much better added to other products or adding stevia to give is a sweeter taste since this doesn't have much of a sweet taste on it's own. The price is better than some I have checkedI have purchased this item twice. It's excellent if you're following the Trim Healthy Mama plan - tastes good and I feel full all morning when I use it in a smoothie.I am most impressed with their shipping.
