Product Description For use with any Dyson vacuum, Zorb powder helps keep carpet looking new by absorbing dirt with millions of microscopic sponges. Sprinkle the powder over your carpet then use your Dyson to suck the dirt up and away. Vacuum sold separately. 26-1/2 oz. Imported. Amazon.com This cleaning powder is designed for use with Dyson vacuum cleaners, which carry the claim that they never lose their suction. Zorb is specially formulated for cleaning high-traffic areas and is even safe for wool or stain-resistant carpets. The powder gets sprinkled on and groomed into the carpet where it rests for 30 minutes, absorbing dirt within millions of tiny sponges. When the carpet is dry, Zorb vacuums up along with the dirt without leaving any sticky detergent residue behind. Zorb is dermatologically balanced so it won't cause skin irritations and is made of 100-percent recycled and biodegradable ingredients to maintain an environmentally healthy home. This single bag contains 26-1/2 ounces (750 g) of carpet maintenance powder. --Cristina Vaamonde

I recently rented a room and unfortunately it has a carpet. I lived in places with carpets for a while so I got used to cleaning and vacuum and renting professional carpet cleaners (didn't seem to make sense to me to buy one if the house wasn't mine). In this place (a somewhat old house) I am willing to bet that the carpet hasn't been replaced for a while (over 10 years probably), judging by it being pretty stiff in areas like the entrance of the room and comparing to the corners (where it looks new). Even though it was cleaned by a professional before I moved in, I am guessing that it has not been cleaned regularly by the previous tenant. So overall there is a big spot at the entrance which I assume is from a mix of it being more used up there and also maybe because shoes were used inside. There was also a weird smell, not a bad one, not mold, but a 'stuffy' smell no matter how long I would keep the window open. Then I tried the Zorb... This product comes in a pouch and as you spread it on the carpet it has a clumpy texture (very different from baking soda and similar products like the Glade and others for carpets). After roughly spreading half of it throughout the carpet, I walked around bare foot and dragged my feet in the carpet to help it go in, closer to the bottom of the carpet fibers. The other half of the product I spread more in the worse areas - those areas that looked darker in color and/or felt less fluffy. Once more I dragged my feet to make sure the product was dispersed as evenly as possible (some reviewers show pictures of how it looks like when it's properly dispersed). I don't know if using my feet was the best idea but that was the best way I could think of to spread the product evenly. I should say that I'm not typically allergic or have high sensitivity to cleaning products or perfumes so if anyone is, probably don't use your feet as I did. As I touched the product with my feet I noticed it being kinda damp (which made sense since the instructions said to wait 30 min or until dry, I couldn't understand why dry since I was expecting a powder). The smell is strong but not the type of smell you would say that it has the only purpose to mask bad odors. It smells good and 'clean' ... whatever that means! After spreading and sweeping with my feet, I left it for over 30 minutes since it was not dried at 30 minutes. When it was dry, I vacuumed using my roommate's vacuum (which is not a Dyson, it's an Hoover from some years ago, still uses bags to collect dirt so I assume is an older model but has good suction). I vacuumed the carpet and made sure I got all the pieces of product even those that went to the corners. In the end, the carpet looks much cleaner and the room doesn't get that intense smell of 'stuffy'. Today was the first day that the room was closed all day after I cleaned it with the Zorb cleaner and I could still smell some that old 'stuffy' but much less than it used to. Overall, it seems like this product worked better than a professional cleaning company, I'm guessing in part because I took the time to insist in the bad areas and I'm guessing they didn't. I plan to repeat the process once more and expect it to take care of the whole issue with the weird smell. I wish I had known about this product for the old place I used to live in, the carpet there wasn't so bad as it was newer than this one and this alone would've saved me tons of times working with a carpet cleaner. I would've used this as a maintenance product in between professional cleaning services. It's freaking amazing and I recommend it 100%!!
