Hard to dissolve.Even before I was keto I was using this product. I always liked that it didn't have any sweeteners or extra carbs that serve no purpose for me gaining muscle. All I want is muscle...not just the weight. I had gotten away from taking protein at all, but was glad to see Jarrow's was still available when I returned to serious weightlifting. It tastes the same to me as before. Plain - it doesn't taste that good, but it mixes easily and now that I've experimented with Stevia and espresso, I have actually found a way to make this taste good.Double shot of espresso, double scoop of Jarrows, 1 packet Stevia, mix with about a cup of water and add ice. That is one healthful cup of iced coffee, great for preworkout. If later in the day I use decaf.Another note - I don't take this product every day. I only use it as a supplement if maybe I'm not that hungry and won't be getting enough protein through my normal diet...which I've mentioned is keto. Some days I'm already approaching 150g protein in my diet and taking whey would be just a waste. After trying many different protein powders, I’ve settled on this one for its good balance of flavour, value and efficiency. But I do add more than the recommended single scoop in order to get a good 25 G protein per serving.Mixed with 6 ounces of milk, I pour this on my Cheerios each morning and add blueberries or banana. My only reservation was the slightly unusual taste of Stevia sweetener, but that’s pretty typical and I’ve gotten used to it.I've been a vegetarian since 1996. I run and swim so it's important for me to supplement protein. This stuff tastes great for protein powder. I mix mine with a chocolate nut or oat milk and drink it after a workout or before bed. It keeps me full til lunchtime and the amino acids definitely help with muscle soreness. I've tried a number of powders and this is the one I keep coming back to. A little pricey but worth it.We usually buy the 2 pound size on Subscribe & Save but when that is out of stock we make sure to get this smaller size since our family relies on this product as a pantry staple. My wife has a family history of Type II diabetes and she can swing from Hypo-glycemic (low sugar) to Hyperglycemic (high sugar) all in one day. She uses the Jarrow Vanilla to boost her protein intake by adding it to her morning oatmeal. She mixes a scoop with hot water in the blender and then pours that over her quick oats portion plus a few spices or a little natural vanilla bean. I like to chop up a banana into 4ths, freeze a few hours before I need to make a smoothie and then use a scoop or 2 of Jarrow with ice & fat-free milk. it's refreshing, low in calories, low in sugar but gives me more protein than if I ate 2 small chicken breasts or a 3 or 4 egg-white omelette. The Jarrow Protein does NOT have a very strong vanilla flavor so it takes on whatever flavoring of the ingredients you add to it. I find that a big plus since you can always ADD flavor but you can't take away offesnive tastes from Protein Powders that are too strongly flavored. The mildness of the Jarrow Vanilla gives you more options and I like that. You can make High Protein iced coffee with this or turn that into a Mocha by using the reccommended serving of the Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa Mix, Sensible Sweets, No Sugar Added, 13.8-Ounce Canisters (Pack of 6) also offered on Subscribe & Save. On a chilly morning my wife will sometimes make a high protein hot chocolate using a scoop of Jarrow and the Above mentioned Swiss Miss. Any frozen, unsweetened fruit makes a great flavoring agent as well. If I have strawberries that are getting overripe, I'll puree them, pour them into single portion plastic cups (you can get half cup sizes with lids at Smart & Final or Club stores) and then take them out and use them when I need some fruit for a protein shake. Waste not, want not. Some people, body builders in particular, would rather buy a Protein powder made from a more processed Whey Conentrate called Whey Protein Isolate AKA "WPI" but that's a very specific issue that most consumers aren't concerned with. Unless you are in training, that's not really gonna be an issue for you. Plus, you lose some of the nutritional value of the Whey in the added steps necessary to make WPI. I have found this Jarrow Protein powder to be versatile, helpful in adding quality but low calorie protein to my routine while also finding it easy to work into all manner of recipes and foods. It's low enough in sugar, the majority of which derivies from the lactose in the milk used to make the Whey powder. My wife can safely consume this without causing spikes or dips in her blood Sugar. My wife uses The Jarrow French Vanilla to make coconut ice pops for the family using lowfat coconut milk along with Bob's Red Mill unsweetened shredded coconut and adds the Jarrow protein powder to the mix. She blends it all up with some vanilla bean specs ands pours them into a Pop mold. They're better than anything we've ever bought.Bottom line: We freak if we run low on this or if Amazon runs out! it's half the price of comperable products at the grocery store and consistant in quality. We love it and somebody in the family uses it every day. The uses are endless. The 2 Lb bottle is a far better price per ounce so try that if it's available. If it's not, grab one of these like we do. Once you start using this stuff, you won't want to be without it.I like this better than other brands I have tried, mainly because it blends so well. I use it on my oatmeal, and I don't really notice the flavor at all.I've used this for years, after deciding there had to be something better than the artificially flavored protein powders found at the big box stores. Best tip -- don't add this to anything hot, or you'll get tiny, unpleasant, cheesy lumps.I love it in my morning coffee but blend it into an inch of coffee in my mug plus a splash of cold milk. A battery powered frother works fine for that, and yes it will make great froth!.Alternatively, I'll mix it up in a big batch using my NutraBullet (3 scoops in 16 oz milk gives me about 1 serving of protein per oz). Mixing it the night before helps it dissolve completely and also gives time for the foam to settle. My dad is recovering from a hospital stay and having trouble eating, so we're putting this into every glass of milk. He likes the milk even better with the added whey protein, says it's creamier and goes down more easily. I've added it to instant pudding and even to jello (blend with the cold water before adding it to the hot water plus jello powder), and it's all gone over well.I haven't tried baking with it yet, but Dad's nutritionist suggested putting it into anything from cookies to muffins. I think as long as I dissolve it into a liquid ingredient before mixing & baking, that should work fine.Needless to say, it's great in smoothies. A scoop of the powder, 6 oz yogurt, 1/4 to 1/2 cup frozen fruit, and a spash of milk... even if he doesn't finish it, Dad gets enough protein to have it count as a decent meal. My seldom-hungry daughter will have a smoothie when nothing else appeals, also. One final note -- I appreciate the single source protein, since I've been told to avoid soy (breast cancer survivor), so most protein bars are "out" for me.As other reviewers have said, I'd give this six stars if I could!First of all, I would like to specify that fair rating, as I see it, should always come from the perspective of price/quality ratio. That being said, I bought this product for £13.83 last year and at that price I would have given it 5 stars. It's natural, it's not something disgusting to drink, the protein content is on the low side but at that price it's tolerable. However I've noticed that for the last 8-9 months the price has been lingering at around triple of what I had paid and at that price it seems like a sub par product. This protein powder is only 78% protein, which is really really low for something so expensive. I personally switched to pharmacy-produced protein which is 91% purity, and costs 30Euro per kilogram. It's not fancy, very basic packaging, but it's pure, it works, it comes from a very reputable pharmacy in our town and costs so much less than this one.So I would suggest searching for an alternative, just make sure to pay attention at purity and source material (you can ask for a technical data sheet to make sure it's 100% whey and not soy). Good luck! Can't fault the delivery, time was great but unfortunately the product itself is somewhat vile! Completely unusable unless you have an aquired taste for what I can only describe as what powdered sick might taste like. Since found a much better alternative and learnt to stick to flavoured whey!Ultra filtered, gluten free and no artificial sweetness or additives. In other words doesn't have some of the crap that might be found cheaper alternatives, and at the same time cheaper than other brands of similar quality powders-nuff said!!I admit I'm fussy with the quality of my food and what it has in it - this protein powder has minimal ingredient, delivers on results and tastes better than any others I've tried - not over sweet but sweet enough to just mix with water. Fab product!Taste bad
