Taste awesome, no idea what the complaints were about.I didn’t realize when I ordered this product it has a warning label that says, “may contain lead.” I’m not going to eat anything that may contain lead and neither should you.I've eaten more foods out of pouches and packets than I really want to contemplate, so I'm pretty used to this sort of thing. The texture on this is like thicker, smoother Jif, or like nutella. It's a thick paste, and needs to be consumed with plenty of water. I don't mind this, but I can see how it could be off putting to someone who wants food, not paste. The flavor is pretty good, it's chocolate-y, it's slightly peanut-y, it's sweet without being cloying. Decent macros, but I'd prefer less sugars/carbs.The packaging is ok but annoys me, because you can't squeeze out the last half teaspoon. I dig it out with the handle of a fork every time, because I can't just throw food away, especially chocolate food! The plastic-ness of the packaging makes me feel quite wasteful, and I don't like that. I'd prefer to not have the screw cap, as that's just an additional piece of garbage. The price isn't totally unreasonable from a sports nutrition perspective, but somehow paying $3 for a tube of goo with simple ingredients is less acceptable to me than $3 for a bar that was baked and has a bunch of stuff in it. Overall, I am not in a hurry enough to think this is a good value. If I never prepared myself food and just lived off of GNC sports snacks cost be damned, this might appeal more to me. For $2 per serving I might come around. If you like chocolate and don't have time to chew, this is for you.I really wanted to like these nutritional pouches because I love how this product is packaged. It’s portable, shelf-stable, easy to open, and to close but it simply isn’t palatable for me. I have very forgiving taste buds and enjoy lots of foods and supplements that tend to be unpopular by others but I could not get past the paste or the taste. I was overwhelmed and unprepared for the thick sludge-like consistency. This product is so thick that it triggered my gag reflex and it seemed no amount of water helped wash it down. While there are hints of peanut butter and chocolate flavors but they get smothered in the denseness of this product. I forced two pouches down on different days in hopes that the flavor would grow on me. Sadly, this was an epic fail in the flavor and density categories.I used to cycle on a road bike many years ago and I remember looking for portable energy supplements I could pack for the long rides, withstand the warm weather, and still be easy enough to access and eat while riding. This would have been perfect for that on the go energy needed for those 25-30 mile rides or intense workouts. Another great benefit if you can stand the taste and consistency is that this product worked wonderfully at suppressing my appetite. This product may appear a bit pricey but it may be well worth it for individuals that work out intensely or need a meal replacement. Especially since this product does not need to be refrigerated. It is also worth mentioning that it is gluten free and considered dairy free. The cost per pouch averages out to $3.20 each and its not expensive when compared to alternative protein bars on the market. I think this is a novel idea and it has its place in the market but I would have enjoyed it better if the taste was improved and consistency was more fluid. Each pouch is roughly equivalent to an energy barin terms of calorie and protein content.I am not sure how to eat this or when to eat this.Do you squeeze some of this on a cracker after a workoutor do you just suck on the tubing directly during the workout? This stuff is so thick that I can't imagine eating this withoutdrinking plenty of liquid. Direction says to knead the pouchbefore consuming. When I am tired and hungry, I don't wantto sit there and knead the darn thing before eating. Can you imagine trying to knead this thing while you are goingfull tilt on your bike?while It has a gritty texture and the taste is similar to Nutella, not wholly unpleasant experience, but nothing to write home about.Another thing about the packaging is that unless you squeeze theDickens out of this pouch, you will typically end up leaving 10-15%of the stuff in the pouch. I can't imagine leaving that much stuffin a energy bar wrapper or energy drink bottle. My conclusion is that pouch is a stupid idea for quick and efficient consumptionof energy food product. I rather grab an energy bar and be done with it.Each serving is pricey for what you get.So I was expecting something a little more or maybe I was expecting something else than what I originally imagined but this is basically chocolate protein powder mixed with peanut butter in a squeeze pouch that is similar to what is given to babies. I say that it’s protein powder mixed with peanut butter because the pouch says to knead it before consuming and it’s because it’s seems to either separate and the texture is gritty. I can’t really recommend this product for the price because getting peanut butter from the grocer store will cost a fraction of the price and just mixing it with chocolate protein powder will yield the same results. It’s tasty nonetheless and satisfies a sweet tooth but it’s really nothing specialI was excited to try these Squeezable Protein Shots because I am a fan of peanut butter and like convenient protein snacks for on-the-go, but unfortunately these were a disappointment. The nutrition profile is decent, although quite high in calories due to the peanut butter. The portion is rather small and the container makes it hard to get the final squeeze out. I though chocolate peanut butter would taste good, but it was lacking in sweetness and not that enjoyable. I could probably make a better tasting snack on my own by mixing peanut butter, cocoa powder or chocolate whey protein and some egg whites together. Lastly, the price is rather outrageous.
