I love this ground achiote. Although others in my family have used the whole seeds, I love the powder. I have a spice grinder, but there are some things I don’t want to grind in it. The ground achiote came in a rustic cellophane packet. I transferred it into a glass spice jar as soon as it came and have been using it ever since; just last weekend I made the most authentic pollo asado ever. I‘ll probably buy the whole seeds, too, but I would definitely purchase from this seller again. The achiote powder came in a timely fashion and in good condition.Edit: As soon as I received this, I repacked it in a glass container with a metal lid. It still went bad in a few months. When I grabbed it to make pollo asado again, I found mold growing in it.First time using this. Made Puerto Rican rice and beans. Not much flavor but not sure if this is normal. Very red color. Very fine powder.If you live in an area where the "hispanic" aisles are stocked with fast food chain brands and little else, then finding the right ingredients can be a challenge. For a good price, minus the cost of driving to the nearest big city, I got a sorely missed and needed staple for my kitchen.Just rightIm in a town were they didnt have this condiment had to resort to buying on amazon due to the need because of a special recipe i have. Very quick excelent flavor.I received what I needed to complete my recipe.I used it to make menestra - I haven't used any other spices so I'm not sure how it compares. It did the job though!To make arroz de cubano and a roast . Perfect
