The box and the scent are beyond lovely. However, when pulling on the black ribbon to open the box - the ribbon popped out. The top was too firmly embedded in the side. Sigh. I'm still loving the powder, just looking for a place to keep it tidy and dry now.The lavender scent is just right enough to not be overpowering. It lasts about 6 hours which is nice. Great for giftgivingfor other females. The canister it comes in is a ptetty one for your counter in the bathroom. A must have.Product smells beautiful and I do love it. The quality of the package could be improved. Mine came in a bag filled with powder that leaked out. Poured it back into powder cup went to apply powder and puff handle fell apart. Suggest you get a nice powder and puff container to keep this in. I will buy again.If you like a really light scent, this is good. If you want something that really has a bit of lingering, floral scent, this is probably not what you want.This is an old-school, retro, dusting powder. Reading the other reviews is interesting. The packaging may have been fixed, because mine was easy to open. Yes, there is a small amount of free-floating powder, but not enough to call waste. It has a very distinctive tea rose scent, but for me it's not overwhelming. The power puff is big, but that's part of what makes it retro. That's how they used to make them.I like it, and would absolutely buy it again. It's always a little dicey buying a scent without being able to smell it.This powder smells amazing. Not too strong, smells like a beautiful rose. Feels great on your skin. I will buy it again.This smells just like fresh cut roses and is quite lovely. The only thing I would like to see changed and make this perfect is the ease of getting the powder to the powder puff. I would prefer a mesh insert instead of the plastic one with a few holes in it.I asked myself why I needed to spend money on a scented powder when I had baby cornstarch powder that worked just fine. The answer turned out to be that a little bit of luxury, and the soft, subtle rose aromatherapy, add a little bit of happiness to the day.This is important to know: what you see in the picture is the lid. The lid covers the entire box of powder. So for reviewers having trouble opening the product, that would have helped them. Also, there is clear, and nearly invisible, tape attaching the lid to the powder base. So if you are gifting this product to someone with older eyes, it would be helpful to remove that tape for them before they use the product. Don't remove the tape beforehand, or they may end up covered in powder when they unwrap the package. The lid fits well over the powder base, but let's not take chances.The powder quality is very nice: soft and finely milled. The scent is very pleasing, also soft. I don't know that I specifically recognize roses, but thanks to years of hybridizing, most roses have little scent anyway. You get a soft whiff of scent using the product, and then I didn't notice it any further during the day.This comes with a very nice powder puff for application. The strip of ribbon for your hand isn't glued on tight, but then it's really hard to glue onto something fluffy and have it stick. The powder puff fits under the lid so you don't have a loose puff leaking powder. The tab at the top is a strip of ribbon, and its very easy to get the lid off, but not so easy that it will spill. The box looks pretty, and unique, sitting out on a counter. And yes, its a cardboard container. I like the Windsor castle logo, which makes me feel a little special using a "royal" beauty product.This year was the hottest summer on record in my state, and so my approach was to use my cornstarch powder as a base for areas that were going to get damp due to the heat and humidity. Then, I followed that with a dusting of this lovely powder. The powder also works just fine by itself. But heat and humidity can be a challenge for me.As a gift, I think most anyone would be happy with it. And for those concerned about talc: as a former chemistry teacher, I would say to be cautious with any products you use. I use only a little of this product at a time, and it's not flying around, but if you are dusting all over, consider using it in a bedroom rather than a small bathroom for additional air circulation. This is a small, enjoyable luxury. I'm looking forward to trying the other scents.I remember when this brand had powder puffs which felt like swans' down. The lump of environmental destruction included in my purchase had an obviously flawed surface, was hideous, polyestery, multi-directional, 'fur' and was the sort of thing I would use to make a costume for an animal in a kids theatre show. Deintely not something I want against my skin and fit for landfill only. So disappointing.The talc itself is lovely.If anyone can recommend a powder puff that is similar to the original, please comment.So unhappy. I got this as a gift for my nan and the powder is everywhere. All over the bag, box and puffer thing. The tab is still in place so unsure how it's all over the place. Not going to give it to her now - too embarrassing.It arrived within a box, in that box was an already torn opened clear bag this tub had been placed in. The lid came straight off the tub as it wasn't sealed/sterile and the contents had gone all over the inside the tub and powder puff. This was a gift for someone and there was no evidence it had ever been sealed to begin with, in this pandemic time, who knows what had been going on with it. Returned for a refund, which was provided very promptly.The first time I bought this product was in 2002 - I bought 3 boxes because I love anything rose-scented. I haven't seen this product in a long time and found it on Amazon, so I bought it again. Although it smells as wonderful as the ones I bought before (same product -Woods of Windsor True Rose - but in different packaging), the smell does not seem to last as long. I still love the smell though.What a beautiful delicate fragrance. reminds me of when they were very popular in days gone by .Would certainly recomend for nastagal MEMORIES. A lovely presentation box .?
