Columbia Teen Girls' Powder Lite Hooded Jacket - Water-Resistant Winter Coat for Skiing, Snowboarding & Outdoor Activities

Both my husband and I love our Columbia jackets with the Omni-Heat reflective lining and we wanted the same for our kid. Not sure why the jacket is marketed as girls jacket. My 8yo son loves it and so do I. Finally a warm jacket without the bulk. He is skinny and tall (53”, 50 lb) and Medium fits him well. Room for a fleece or a sweater. I am hoping he can wear it next season as well.Comfortable, fits a 44" tall toddler. Super easy to maintain - washing in cold and hang dry.Keeps her warm and allows for a sweater under.Its not a winter coat so once the temps begin to fall below 40 consistently, then it's time to transition. This is a great fall-winter transition coat.This jacket is wonderfully warm and compact when rolled up. The inner lining give that extra warmth. My daughter loves it.My girls wore this lightweight jacket while we were visiting NYC. They walked around times square at night in 40 degree windy weather and stayed quite warm.Love this jacket! To me it feels a lot like a down coat, despite having polyester fill. I always thought that down was the best, but this coat has changed my mind. For starters it washes and dries much better than down and doesn’t have that weird feather smell. Despite being made of polyester it still is warm like down.The inside fabric is bright silver and very unique. It reminds me of something an astronaut would wear. It is made with Columbia’s patented Omni-heat thermal reflective material. It works by trapping heat in and allowing your to stay warmer with a lot less bulkiness. It makes it perfect for playing outside. The hood is especially important because with curly hair, my daughter goes to school with wet hair. This hood is efficient in keeping her head warm from the car to the school. The outside fabric is soft and sleek.It does have two fleece lined pockets that keep his hands warm. They are soft and cozy. It does not have zippers or buttons so they are very easily accessible.The coat fits as you would expect for the size. It is large on my daughter so she will be able to get multiple years out of it. It is a nice quality coat that represents the Columbia brand very well. It is a coat that is both parent and child approved!
