Often referred to as Ritha, Aritha, Reetha or Soap Nut Hair Powder. Commonly imported and marketed as hair washes and scalp treatments treatments. Pure Soap Nut Powder has its origins as an ancient Ayurvedic herb for personal cleansing and hair care (even anti-hair loss) treatments. Only in recent years has its full power as a safe, green household detergent and cleaner been recognized in the US market. Soap Nuts are redefining the meaning of “green” cleaning. Packaged in a recyclable polybag.
Ground from fresh, wild-harvested, organic soap nuts / soap berries. Our berries are wild-crafted from the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains, not China or plantation grown. Free from chemicals, pesticides, industrial pollutants, or contaminants.
Use "AS-IS" for laundry detergent, household cleaner, or hair & scalp care treatment. Ideal as a base surfactant (soap) for making your own green, personal care products, hair care & shampoo treatments, laundry detergents or household cleaners.
No fillers or additives Safe, chemical-free, fragrance free, eco friendly, hypoallergenic, biodegradable, compostable.
Note Powder is finely ground – but larger, un-dissolvable particles will be present. When using as a powder laundry detergent it is best to sift out the larger particles prior to use or grind the powder further in a coffee grinder or blender (if grinding further it is best to wear a ventilation mask).
I love this soap nuts powder so much! :)I have been using it as my shampoo for over a year now and its nothing short of amazing! :)I have hard water, and this powder works wonders for me! :)*This soap nuts powder has something in it called saponin, saponin is derived from nature (from soap nut berries. The part that is used though,is the hard shell surrouding the berry, not the berry itself :)saponin is very good at cleaning hair and clothes. it's very gentle and won't strip your hair of it's natural and necessary oils. its very good and nutritious for the hair,it's nature's shampoo and soap! :)What I do is I take about 3 cups of hot water, and add to it a great 3 or 4 heaping tablespoonfuls of the powder.I use this amount, and it works for me. I have very long waist length hair. You may need more or less of the powder, depending on how long your hair is,and how strong you want the mixture to be.I stir it around, and let it cool down a bit to lukewarm temperature.I then take a coffee grounds strainer, and I filter out the water, separating it from the soap nut powder bits (kind of like a "hair tea", that's what I actually call it too,my hair tea ;)When I have the all the bits of the powder separated from the water,I pour the hair tea water into an old shampoo bottle. I use this hair tea as my shampoo in the shower.**Just a note: the water will be brown when you make the hair tea,but it's supposed to look like that, and it's very clean :)Just PLEASE BE CAREFUL! The liquid burns so bad if you get it into your eyes! And it tastes so bad if it drips near your mouth! It's bad for the stomach if accidentally swallowed! It's very runny if you make the hair tea the way I described,so you want to lean your head far back as you apply it to your hair. Let it sit at least 5 minutes, and then rinse it out completely just like you would any store bought shampoo :)It is soooooo much better than regular shampoos! :)It's natural, and it makes my hair very soft and clean! :)(I just use a little bit of conditioner for the ends of my hair, after I rinse out the hair tea,as my hair has always been very dry on the ends)I love this soap nuts powder and highly recommended it! :)(I have Caucasian hair, I'm 25% Native American, but my hair is more on the Caucasian side, not surprisingly ;)my hair is wavy and thick, prone to get oily at the top,and prone to dryness at the bottom half.Washing my hair with my special "tea" 2 times a week helps to tame the oilyness, but still without stripping my hair, and it doesn't make the bottom half of my hair any more dry :) I do still use conditioner on the bottom of my hair.Peace :)
