It works sooooo well.Note: the alcohol ingredients in this product are NOT your typical alcohol derivatives - these are specifically FATTY/MOISTURIZING alcohols and you can learn more about them if you google the names.I have very long hair ~ 27 inches with layers.Before this product, around maybe 21 inches - the very longest layer of my hair would get a little dry at the ends/tips. So I always trimmed my hair then to prevent the dry hair from growing.Now that I started using this product (I just use it everytime I wash my hair, so, a couple times a week) my ends NEVER get dry. Today, they feel as smooth and moisturized as the day they were cut (you know the feeling of freshly cut hair, it's so soft).This product is why I can stop trimming my hair now! And just let it grow and grow!!I have only used it onceFor the people stating its expired , UNOPENED SHAMPOO lasts 3 to 4 years after due date, since theyre not opened , ONCE U OPEN ANY SHAMPOO it expires 12 month from the date opened not from the manufacturing date …..This stuff is great.The texture and the smellI'm SOOO in love with THIS MASK RIGHT NOW, and have been for the past eight months or so now. Every time I try to use something else, I come right back to the moisturizing shampoo and this mask. I was always told my hair didn't like/couldn't "handle" protein so stay away from it because every time I'd get a treatment, my hair would begin breaking off. They were the "pro's" so for years I permed and listened and the damaged continued. UNTIL, I decided, no more. So longer story short, my hair is healthier than it's been in YEARS and this is the change along with a few other staple products. And it works on Eastern Asian hair. My hair has been badly damaged by a perm and the ensuing mistreatment of an over-ambitious stylist who used unbearably high temperature to blow dry. I had been on a journey to restore moisture, shine and softness to my hair for months. Just after one use of this product, my hair felt amazing! It was beyond words amazing...I couldn't stop touching my hair after the treatment because it was so soft and smooth, literally felt like silk. But sadly, I just don't think I could ever use it again despite the great results. I learnt about the brand Vatika from a YouTuber, and found this one on Amazon. What I didn't pay attention to was this jar has a cap of different color from the one in that YouTube video. The YouTuber was raving about the product, including its scent. But the scent of this jar is just way too overpowering. It masks every other smell around you: you won't be able to appreciate any other fragrant product you use; expensive perfume would be a waste after you had a hair treatment with this product; you would hesitate to go close to other people because you would fear that the smell would repel them... Well, to be absolutely fair, this actually doesn't stink, like some other reviewer mentioned, but it is WAY TOO OVERPOWERING. If the "scent" of this were diluted by a lot, it could actually smell good. But I don't know what went into the head of whoever designed this: the amount of fragrance put into the product is atrocious. And yes, I concur with another reviewer here, the smell doesn't even wash out! Three days after the treatment, I washed my hair with deep cleansing shampoo, and guess what? After drying, I could still smell this. So sad, I will just have to give up using this product with amazing results. If anyone knew which Vatika Hot Oil Treatment has a milder smell, please respond to this review, maybe I would be willing to try. Thank you.I LOVE this product, it’s my holy grail of hair care items. I had alopecia for 12 years and one year into using this my hair is almost back how it was and has flourished, it’s super soft and silky and has lots of bounce. I love how this is also silicone sulfate paraben and mineral oil free so I know it’s actually getting to my hair and not blocked by silicones giving a false sense of soft shiny bouncy hair. The only downside is, if your hair DOES NOT need protein, this product will make your hair feel like straw and send you into protein overload so be cautious and mindful and research how to know if your hair is protein or moisture deficient/overloaded so you can take the appropriate steps to finding the balance between the two.Holy mother of God this stuff is AMAZING!!! My hair is so damaged (bleach, hair dye remover, lightening spray and numerous dying sessions) so much so I recently chopped about 4 inches off it. I got this after the positive review and im glad I did. I've been mixing it with some liquid protein drops and another protein hair mask I got off amazon (I've done a review for those aswell so feel free to check it out) and those 3 mixed together have transformed my hair. I had the mixture on under a shower cap and towel for about and hour and WOW!! My hair is soooo soft, shiny and feels thick and healthy again.The thickness of the mask means it doesn't drop all over the place or slide off your towel dried hair even with the liquid protein. The smell isn't for me but isn't excessively bad im just sensitive to certain smells and once it's under the shower cap and towel I hardly noticed it.Seriously if your hair is badly damaged I recommend buying this and the other two products. I have a feeling this will work just as well on its own too though.Really great protein treatment, very effective and excellent value for money. The only downside is the smell, I can only describe it as cheap air freshener! Also curly girl method approved.Oh dear! What a terrible smell... My husband said I smelt like a wet dog! A clean wet dog he later clarified.... But by that time I'd re washed my hair.. I found it hard to rinse out.... And felt it left a sticky residue... My hair actually looked worse, and made my head itch. ..it contains Silicone which is a product almost like rubber and/or plastic. It is used as a sealant against water and even air. It is not a natural ingredient, and its side effects are bad for our hair. It gives the hair the illusion of shine, but it is not the shine we want—it is a fake shine from the plastic.Just wonderful! I have very thin fly away hair which is so hard to make shine and frizz free.this gives me just that without weighing my hair down or making it look greasy. I used this mask for the first time last night and I had four people comment on my hair today saying how shiny and nice my hair looked I never get comments even after colouring so was very surprised that four people commented on it! Magic stuff definitely 5 star from me!!
