I used this powder in increase my protein intake. I have the original, unflavored so it can be used several ways without altering taste. I make smoothies and add peanut butter, almond milk, frozen sliced bananas, cinnamon and the powder. Really comes out nice. It's not really grainy, just a little. This powder works really well in my morning smoothie. It does have a slight taste to it, which I use unsweetened shredded coconut in my smoothie and disguises it perfectly. Its not gritty, its a fine powder. This is my new favorite vegan protein powder so far!! Not gonna buy any other one, i love this one!!Big fan of this product. Switched to biosteel a few years ago. I’m lactose intolerant and the vegan option keeps my stomach at ease. As long as they keep supplying, I’ll keep buying.I was looking for a vegan protein powder that was highly recommended and was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled upon Biosteel. The powder itself tastes really good and isn’t high in carbs which is perfect for me.couldent find a vegan protien powder with less calories. thankyou biosteelGood for animals, good for the planet, and good for your body. Great nutritional profile, tastes fine, mixes good. Nothing weird, nothing not expected.Really like that it's NSF certified, not some chemical mix cooked up in a dudes garage or China or repackaged generic whatever. Super way to get protein, to feel good. Hope this quick review helps you.Besides the moral/ethical reasons to use plant proteins (vegetarian/vegan lifestyle/philosophies), there are health considerations. Plant based proteins powders usually have no cholesterol and little/no saturated/trans fats. That's an important aspect for anyone looking to limiting these aspects. This protein mix follows that nutritional concern. There is zero cholesterol and only 2 gram of fat (1g saturated fat) in a 33g serving. That fat probably coming from the pumpkin seed component. The serving size is one scoop, which is 33 grams. Yes, it is a somewhat sizable scoop. In that serving, you get 23 grams of protein. This is a decent quantity, although other plant proteins provide a protein to serving ratio better than 2:3.The product displays badges and notices that it is Vegan, No artificial flavors or coloring, Non-GMO, Gluten-free, Soy-free and a prominent badge for NSF Certified Sport. Badges/certifications for GMP, FDA are missing, which in these days is a conspicuous omission, at least for me.The container only provides 25 servings. My opinion, on supplements, is to provide servings/doses in multiples of months. So, a month supply is a minimum, unless it's just a sampler to tease/attract new customers.Attached are photos to show real world images, with close-ups of pertinent information from the label.I mixed this in hot almond, cashew milk, and it dissolved well. The vanilla taste was decent, not too sweet with no aftertaste. This actually made for a nice hot protein drink on a cold wintery day.Based on the above considerations, this vegan plant protein mix earns a 4 - 4.25 star rating, with a moderately high recommendation.I enjoy trying a few different kinds of protein powders, primarily because I’m on a plant-based diet and need the protein. One friend at work always turned up her nose and preferred whey protein powders over anything with pea in it. The main thing was the fact that the grittiness turned her off. On the other hand, I prefer the pea proteins as did another coworker. This blend or organic proteins, however, seems to be much less gritty than pea protein alone. There are several different sources of plant-based protein in the Biosteel. I’m not a smoothie person, but rather enjoy my protein powder in yogurt. If desired, I will add a bit of flavoring to it to make it more enjoyable. The powder mixes readily with no clumping, which makes me think if this were added to a smoothie, it would mix equally well. There wasn’t enough grittiness to make this a total turnoff for me.What I really like is the fact that there’s a full 25 grams of protein in a single scoop. What I’m not getting in my food, I can easily get from the Biosteel. The use of the Stevia makes it more diabetic-friendly, but I’m not sure about the natural flavors. Some people object to them, while I’m a fence sitter. I’ve included the ingredients below so one can take a closer look. I was very satisfied with the taste as well as the fact that I’m getting a decent protein boost.INGREDIENTS:Organic Brown Rice Protein, Pea Protein, Natural Flavors, Organic Pumpkin Seed Protein, Pea Starch, Celtic Sea Salt, Xanthan Gum, Sea Salt, Stevia Leaf ExtractTastes like it's about 5 years out of date.Tried 2 scoops with oat milk which usually improves the taste of most powder to say it was beyond disgusting doesn't even come close.Tried it again later with 1 scoop with water, had to open throat and pour down tastes rotten it's a wonder didn't throw up. Do not buy this garbage.I've been using this for about 6 months. Flavor is not quite as good as the other non vegan products out there but I still find it really good. I mix it with some chocolate almond milk and fresh berries. Dissolves really well and I find the flavor really quite good. I know it gets a bad rap for flavor and to be honest, I've never had this product mixed only with water. The only downside for me is the price. VERY pricey!!Great plant based protein for recovery.People that complain about the taste don’t know how to mix it properly. Toss this into a blender and mix it well. You won’t find a better all natural protein powder. Also this is third party drug and safety tested.I'm the only non-dairy person in the house, so this was great. Flavour is good, easy to shake up. I leave it sit a bit so it dissolves well, comes off like a milkshake, or at least that's my desired consistency.I have had a hard time finding a plant based protein that didn’t taste like dirt. Still a bit of a grittiness but definitely a better theater than the others I have tried.
