Hero Arts embossing powder is fine enough for embossing words and is a true "white" color.I can't stand that there are never any pictures that depict the colors of the embossing powders AFTER it has been heated. I saw someone use this on a blog somewhere & thought I'd give it a try, since it didn't look too yellow or too bright in the blog pix. Having tried it, I can truly say that I love this stuff! It's not 80s shiny brass, but is a bit darker. It's not super glittery like some of the WOW metallics, but it definitely still reads as metallic. Please see a picture for an example of the color. Yes, I went a little nuts and used it all over the card & on the frame & on the border of the mounting layer.I wanted to add a subtle sparkle to some shrink art pieces, so I mixed this with equal parts clear embossing powder. It came out perfect. The sparkles flash blue, green and purple as the light hits them, and they don't obscure the artwork. I'll definitely order more, when I run out. I just wish it was available in a larger jar.The design is whimsical. I like that. I am finding that LZBRDY brand is consistent quality and reasonably priced.I was disappointed when I realized this embossing powder is transparent. You can't see it on dark papers. I'm sure it's fine on white or light colored papers. The description should say that it's transparent, as most people are probably expecting opaque. UPDATE: I realized the color is actually a lot darker than it looks in the container. It's bright red before you heat it, and a dark maroon color after it's been heated. So, whether it's opaque or transparent (not sure at this point), it's too dark of a color after it's heated to be used on dark paper. It is fine on light paper, just not the same color as in the container.I bought this as one of my first embossing powders. I love the color - bright, vibrant red, turns darker when heat embossed. I like the product a lot, BUT - I found it for half this price on 1-2-3 Stitch! they have great deals on embossing powders, and if you buy multiple items, the shipping is VERY reasonable!Nice and sparkly love the blue tint.I dried it like many said to do on YouTube but still melts too far. Doesn’t look like sand then. Still learning to use it. Hopefully I’ll get better at it!This works ok on white card, but it’s more of a clear Pearl than white. Tried it on kraft card and it was almost invisible. Not really what Iexpected. Think it’s a bit expensive for what it is but the size is quite goodThis fine powder embosses well. It is a bright white that looks particularly effective on brown cards stock - I use recycled and Neenah 'Desert Storm'.Have other Hero arts embossing powder which I like. Haven't tried this one yet but I'm sure it will be bril. This was my first attempt at embossing and I was so delighted, I can't recommend your product enough!A good white embossing powder but WOW is just as good, not the only option out there.
