Protein Folding Problem and Solutions - Latest Research & Breakthroughs | For Biochemistry Students & Researchers

This book presents some conventional ways of looking at protein folding from a physical chemistry perspective (that is top down thermodynamic view). The major 'solution' which this book presents is an argument that hydrophilic (attractive forces) be used as the focus for model proteins systems, as opposed to the approach which focuses on minimizing hydrophobic residue contact with the solvent surface. Unfortunately this does not amount to a solution to the PFP, as the calculations to find global and even local free energy minima are computationally intractable for large proteins.
