I have sensory issues and a bunch of different allergies & sensitivities that can make it really hard to find a protein shake that I like and can tolerate. I look forward to drinking this almost everyday. (I skip it on fasting days.) I mix mine with water and it tastes fine. I haven't tried it with coconut milk or almond milk yet. It would probably taste good tho. Very impressed with this. I hate having to spend a huge chunk of money on a big container and find out I have a reaction to it or when it tastes awful so it's all a waste. This is not the case here! I could taste the plant supplement when taking this and it doesn't mix well enough to mask the taste. The added supplements in this label are very good but because of the taste, it is hard to swallow, literally. I was barely able to drink the chocolate to try it but the vanilla flavor was unbearable and just had to get rid of it. The price is way too high for the taste. They really need to fix their flavoring and maybe this would be a better product. I would not recommend this to anyone based on my experience with it.Hi. I’ve been using this plant fuel protein powder to make after workout recovery drinks and full tilt, high protein, blender smoothies. The first time I used it, I followed the manufacturer’s suggestion to mix it with water and blend it in my shaker. I quickly learned that mixing it with water makes a drink that is an acquired taste (and was not for me).Moving on from that H2O experiment, I made drinks combining the Plant Fuel powder with plain, unsweetened, soy milk and, I cannot lie, 2% low-fat dairy milk. I found that combining the chocolate powder with soy milk in my shaker blender made a post workout recovery drink that went down easily and was not too filling. That combination worked fine but I was looking for something more. And that “something” became the power smoothies I’ve since been making with his protein powder. I discovered that this chocolate powder combined in a blender with low-fat milk, a sectioned banana, and a variety of other “throw ins” such a tablespoon (or two) of all natural peanut butter, whole ground flaxseed meal and organic chia seeds make a tasty, and filling, drink that will keep me going.The one downside of this Plant Fuel protein powder is its price when compared to similar, if not identical, products. And that, for me, affects its overall value. Although its price point is set higher than its competitors’, it is, without a doubt, a high quality product that makes a great foundation for a high protein smoothie.Have fun …I tried this one along with Plantfuel's meal replacement. I like the meal replacement option far better. This one had a slight aftertaste that I did not like. Did not mix up as smooth as the meal replacement formula. Flavor is not bad though for a vegan formula. I usually drink Vega 1.The bag format can be messy at first but I keep the bag in an airtight plastic tub and it has kept it fresh.I would definitely try PLANTFUEL again. It's convenient, easy to take and flavorful.I'm super-picky when it comes to the powdered protein I put into my body but I've been making some tweaks here and there to my diet, so I gave Plant Fuel's Performance Protein a chance. What resulted from my risk taking was the discovery of a completely clean protein powder that has all the benefits of a whey protein, minus all the negatives I normally experience. I detail my experience with Plant Fuel's protein in the following:- This stuff mixes incredibly smooth into any liquid I added it to and did not create clumps of gelatinous protein that I swallow down whole.. gross! TIP: Put a handful of frozen strawberries and almond milk, with a scoop of this supplement; blend and you make a delicious morning shake!- The overall texture post-mixing was not gritty and fibrous like a lot of the plant-based proteins I have tried in the past and it is really tasty, without a chalky finish that sticks to the palate hours after consumption.- I did not experience the side effects I traditionally have with whey protein, such as: painful bloating of the stomach, overall weighed down feeling in my torso, no gassy aftermath (sorry for the TMI but its fact)- Added ingredients, like the BCAA's and mushroom strains, have really helped me overcome the soreness I feel after a heavy lift day and definitely help in muscle recovery, in order to go at it again the next day after.- I deducted one star for the sugar substitute that was used, Stevia - recent studies and extensive research have shown that Stevia is linked to reproductive issues, it's conversion to a mutagenic compound can cause a cell's genetic make-up to mutate into cancer, and a decrease in energy metabolism.As with most things in life, too much of something is likely to cause an averse reaction in the human body and so goes the issue with the Stevia added to this nutritional supplement. Overall, I highly recommend this plant-based protein powder because it has so many benefits that modern-day whey lacks and throws in some additional elements to aid in your muscle recovery!
