I've been working out a long time (since high school, over 10 years ago), and i've been a pretty solid 200 lbs for that whole time. I plateaued, and it seemed like no matter how hard I worked, or what workout I tried, I never really put on any mass, or lifted heavier weights. I was in shape, but not very big, and no amount of work seemed to help.I have never supplemented before, and this was my first purchase of any sort of protein powder. I purchased this item, as well as the bodytech Creatine Monohydrate. Within 4 weeks, I had gained 10 lbs, yet I'm actually a little leaner than I was before. Every last one of my lifts is up at least 5 lbs, some are up 10-15 lbs. After 10 years of getting (almost) nowhere, to put on 10 lbs of mostly muscle in 4 week is unreal. I don't know if it's the creatine or the protein or both, or maybe it's just a placebo and neither one of them really do anything... but I don't care. I'm lifting more and gaining mass, and these two items are the only change I've made to my routine. In my book, they work. The icing on the cake, is that this is the cheapest I've found anywhere among any brand of protein, and it actually tastes pretty good. Mix with a cup of milk and shake vigorously, and you have an instant 25g of protein. Shake it well, otherwise it has a tendency to clump in the bottom of the cup. Overall, I'm satisfied with it. I'll buy it again when this bucket runs out.I've tried several brands of protein powder, and this is BY FAR the best tasting with the best consistency of any brand I've tried. It makes smoothies taste like a milk shake. My bf gives it his stamp of approval (he was a vitamin store manager with vast knowledge of supplements). He says it tastes like the higher priced brands, which is important because if it doesn't taste good, you're less likely to stick with it. He say that's important for people who are beginning a new regimen. He is a practical guy. :) It has a good amino acid profile and is low sugar/carb.I highly suggest you use the vanilla flavor! I learned this the hard way by trying the chocolate flavor, and I didn't like it. My trainer said to stick with vanilla because you can add ingredients to change the flavor to anything you want! Good thinking!Okay so the price was right so I had to try and this particular brand of protein powder. The flavor was pretty good I tried the vanilla. Although it was difficult to mix it wasn't the worst I've ever tried. But in comparison I think that the optimal nutrition penny per gram of protein is the best value on the market so it it's my opinion I have to steer you to Optimum Nutrition. But if you find this at a good deal and you want to give it a whirl I say go for it just keep in mind my only real issue was that it just doesn't mix very well. This is the only whey protein that I have used that doesn't have a horrible after taste. I use it with almond milk and it tastes pretty good.Have to give it four stars in principle. It's not a flavor that I'm fond of, but it gives you slightly more protein and amino acids per serving as the EAS Whey, but at slightly lower serving count. In theory it's gonna be work out to about the same. This can be found online some places for as low as $60 for 2 5lb tubs, so for the value, it's good. Even at $40 per tub it's still a comparable deal to the EAS.My boyfriend kept telling me I need to try protein. His made me want to gag. I was hesitant to try this but when I did I loved it. I tastes great. But it does get lumpy so I have to shake the bottle a lot.Not a bad taste at all. Definitely not something you mix with water, though. That wasn't too pleasant but not terrible. I use one scoop in 2 cups of almond milk(original unsweetened) after every workout(roughly 3 - 5 times a week). I was using 2 scoops which made the almond milk MUCH sweeter, but cut back to put the calories toward my dinner.I put on a lot of muscle over 2 years with this stuff. Went from 270 lbs of fat to 220 lean back up to 250 still lean over a course of just under 2 years. It is a little thin tasting if that makes sense but it tastes good for being low sugar/carb/fat, really good with milk though.
