TLDR: The powder goes on so smoothly and easily and is insanely sparkly in the right light. A little goes a long way. Follow the directions closely and use the top coat that comes with the kit, and it will work flawlessly. I am so happy with this purchase.I was hesitant to purchase this because of its few reviews, so I only got the basic kit, which only includes the powder and a top coat. Because of this, I had to use my own base coat and gel color. These worked just fine across the board (I can post the brands I used if anyone is interested). I tested this powder on a few of the practice nails that came with the kit (immensely helpful, by the way--I am so so happy these came in the package). I used white, light lavender, and a navy blue (in the photo, the order is left, middle, and right, respectively) as the testers, and I was happy with all of the results, though any imperfections (like places the powder may not have stuck as well) showed up more easily on the darker color. However, after applying it on both hands as well as the few practice nails, the imperfections were few and minuscule and probably my own doing.I liked the lavender color best, so I decided to do it on all my nails to see how they looked on shorter nails and if I could do it as easily with my left (non-dominant) hand. I really liked the way it looked on my hand, despite my nails being much shorter than the testers (please excuse the terrifying state of my cuticles). As far as it being easy to apply with my non-dominant hand, I didn't have much trouble, as I'm used to applying gel using both hands. The amount of pressure doesn't matter a whole lot, as long as it's consistent across the whole nail. There is a huge margin of error for this. I was surprised at how easy the entire process was.I have some experience with using gel polishes, so I had a few other topcoats. Because the powder stuck so well with the gel that came with the kit, I had the thought of preserving it and used a Gellish topcoat for the final coat, rather than use more of the gel top from the kit. It still turned out okay, but it was a bit duller and didn't let the holo shine through as well (I can attach a picture of the comparison if anyone is interested). It's barely noticeable, but I would highly recommend just using the coat that came with the kit, as it was shinier and smoother than my Gellish coat. Finally, you do NOT need a lot of powder to coat the entire nail--I needed muuuuch less than I'd initially guessed. By the final few nails, all I needed to get a good coat was to lightly touch the applicator to the powder and it was more than enough to get a good even layer. Also, a bit of a tip--a lot will go to waste if you don't apply it over the container to catch any fallout. The bottle was shipped inside another plastic container, so I kept it in there for another layer of insurance during application. I loved this--I will be storing it in there as well. There's a ton in there, so it's not a huge deal, but I also just didn't want a big glittery mess. Letting the fallout fall back into the container was a good, clean strategy for conserving powder and not making a mess. The kit was shipped quickly and packaged neatly and cleanly. I will definitely look into buying from this seller again.
