My mother and I are both vegetarians so we have tried a number of plant based protein powders. Both of us liked the taste of this powder which is rare bc we don't have a similar 'pallet' if you will. I can always pick up on the taste of plants or stevia which is off putting for me but she actually likes when you can taste the greens and what have you.This powder wasn't overpowering in the 'greens ' department. I actually was able to pick up on the chocolate flavor, more so when I mixed it with milk as I couldn't get past the consistency when I mixed this with water because it was gritty. My mother on the other hand prefers to mix it (& all her protein powders) with water bc milk bothers her stomach and she likes the grainy texture. She's one of those people who enjoys drinking orange Metamucil(?) BECAUSE it's gritty.I usually like to doctor-up my protein shakes no matter what so bc I don't have a nut allergy, I put in a spoonful of chocolate flavored powdered peanut butter along with ice and milk. This powder 'played well' with all 3 and I really enjoyed it.So from the standpoint of someone who likes protein shakes mixed w/ water and on the gritty side, my ma said this one was one of the better tasting powders, she gives it 4 stars.From the standpoint of someone who likes protein shakes that actually taste like the flavor they claim to be, I was able to discern the chocolate taste when mixing it up in the blender w/ ice & milk. I liked it ok then but adding the spoonful of powdered PB made me realllly like it. I realize that isn't an option for some bc of nut allergies and that is likely why you are choosing this powder to begin with as it is sans nuts. So my rating is 3.5 stars when doctored up with only ice & milk.I hope our humble opinion helps you in some way.Thank you for reading.I purchased this powder because my kids are allergic to nuts and I don't like to put anything that could be cross contaminated in our blender. This is great because I am also allergic to wheat which means I can drink this with no issues. The taste is good I blended the chocolate in the vitamix with 1/2 banana, ice and water. Will have to try the vanilla flavor next! It really was hard to find an allergen free option so thank you for creating something for us.Could be a little more chocolatey - but tastes pretty good!Not thrilled with the tasteNUTRAVEGAN plant based protein powder is made in Canada. One serving is 2 tablespoons (30 grams) and contains 100 calories, 190 mg of sodium and 16 grams of protein.This vegan product is listed as 100% natural ingredients which include: pea protein concentrate, organic acacia gum, organic brown rice protein, cocoa powder, hemp protein powder, pumpkin seed protein powder, organic quinoa powder, guar gum, xanthan gum, natural flavors, stevia leaf extract, sea salt.I add two tablespoons of this to 8 ounces of almond milk and make it in the blender. It does blend well without leaving any grit in the mix. The taste is chocolaty sweet, creamy and quite tasty. It is easy to digest and easy to like.One quibble is the presentation. The bag is not as easy to use as the jars that most of my protein powers come in and it doesn’t close well. The two tablespoon scoop is one that I won’t use again. The back of the scoop is not smooth and has two rails that trap the power creating a mess when the scoop is lifted from the bag.Overall though, NUTRAVEGAN plant based protein powder contains a good list of natural ingredients and has 16 grams of proteins in a 100 calorie serving. It makes a well blended, tasty and easily digested protein shake.This review is for the NutraVegan Protein Shake mix in chocolate.Great nutrient, vitamin, and mineral profile, but the flavor just isn’t for me — way too sweet when mixed with water. I couldn’t even finish the glass. :( And I’m someone who loves sweets! It needs another flavor, a tiny bit of salt or depth, to balance it out. I might try mixing it with unsweetened oat milk to see if that makes it more palatable. That said, everyone’s tastebuds are different, and I’m sure many people will find this very tasty, especially if they haven’t had good luck with other vegan protein mixes on the market.Despite the use of plant-based ingredients, I had a difficult time trying to drink this. I used almond milk which I think helped with masking some of the artificial aftertaste, but the scent is a bit unpleasant. It might be better to mix it with other ingredients for a filling smoothie, but drinking the mix with no other additions was not a great experience.This protein smoothie has a lot of good ingredients, but the addition of stevia nixes it for me: I simply can't stand the aftertaste, it's making me sick. I could not finish one serving of this - it is not for me.I wish that "healthy" smoothie manufacturers would make unsweetened versions of their shakes/powders/mixes giving the consumers an option to choose/add the sweetener of their choice. Stevia is not a "one size fits all" solution.
