I am a peanut butter junkie! I also have Type 2 diabetes and watch my calories, sugar, and carbs like a hawk. I'm always on the lookout for a tasty alternative to PB in jars that usually have a whopping 200 calories for 2 tablespoons. I've tried probably three or four powdered PB's and came across brand...or brandless as it advertises. I have to say it is absolutely delicious! It's the first I've tried that really tastes like someone put a bunch of peanuts in a grinder and powdered them. I've only made it once so far on a PB&J sandwich, but I'm very excited to try it in many, many more recipes.I am greatly pleased with this Brandless matcha powder, I have used it in teas and smoothies and it gives off an authentic matcha flavor every time. Matcha powder can be hard to dissolve as it turns into little balls when in contact with extreme temperatures, so it is best to use a blender to ensure a through mix. The only drawback I noticed was the packaging. As match is a very thin, somewhat clingy powder, it gets into the snap seals of the bag, which makes it hard to completely snap shut at times, and to air seal matcha te to maintain its freshness, so I ended up transferring the contents to a different container.I LOVE matcha in basically everything - tea, smoothies, candy, baked goods. I just love how matcha tastes and how it makes me feel. I make at-home iced matcha lattes and fraps constantly. I wasn't sure about this matcha because it's priced very competitively for 3.5 ounces (this is a lot of matcha) and important details are missing - for instance, is this sourced from Japan or ?? Every other brand I've tried (and that's many) discloses that - generally as a source of pride about their matcha (Japanese-sourced matchas are generally the best). This matcha does confirm that it's organic and GMO-free, which is great, but again - the grade of the matcha is also usually disclosed and again, it's noticeably absent here. Based on the price and color, this seems to me to be culinary or cafe grade matcha.I've used this matcha to make sweetened iced matcha lattes and homemade matcha ice cream so far, and I was happy with the results, but I don't think I'd choose this matcha if hot matcha was what I wanted...I have tried a couple of different matchas, and this one is my second favorite. It isn't a vibrant green, and you have to use a little extra if you want a strong flavor. I think it taste very good.I use this to add protein to my chocolate PB shakes. I used to use actual peanut butter, but doing it this way cuts some of the fat and oil. I will continue to use this on those specific shakes. I like to alternative between this and unflavored whey when making fruity shakesI've used this matcha in my smoothies so the taste is diluted by the other things in the smoothie but I've also made hot tea with this matcha and enjoyed it. My favorite way to use this matcha is to pair it with one of my herbal teas to make a double mug of hot tea. I try to have matcha everyday and my morning tea is a great way to have it since I can't even taste it in my smoothies."Brandless" peanut powder is an all-natural, non-GMO vegan product. Basically, it is peanuts grounded to a powder form. It is not oily or pasty/sticky like commercially available peanut butter would be.I have tried it by adding it to my breakfast in a different ways. I added 1 tablespoon of peanut powder to vanilla yogurt mixed with granola, even mixed with yogurt and banana slices. It gives a fantastic peanut flavor and taste. I even tried it on a toasted white bread with a small amount of Nutella and peanut powder - really yummy! To make a peanut butter, I mixed 1 teaspoon of the peanut powder with 2 teaspoons of water, and it became like a peanut butter and spreads easily on bread.Because it has added sugar, it tastes much sweeter than regular peanut butter, so I did not have to add jelly to my sandwich. Some people may not like that much sweetness; however, sprinkling it in a powder form provides the best way to add peanut flavor to any healthy breakfast or lunch option.Ingredients include peanut powder, coconut, salt and sugar. 2 tablespoons of powder is only 60 calories. I liked the quality and texture of the powder, and I also like the package. However, it is sweeter than what you might be used to so be aware of that and balance it.This is a fantastic addition for your milkshakes! It tastes just like peanut butter, yet mixes well into liquids with minimal clumping. While I haven't tried it yet, I suspect that this will be a great way to make a chocolate peanut butter ice cream base as well!My main cons on this powder is that it does have a fair bit of sugar in it and it's light on the chocolate flavor. While there are hints of chocolate, it's much heavier on the peanut butter. I would have preferred more cocoa to balance it out. Additionally, this has 8 total grams of sugar in 2 tablespoons, which will add quite a bit of sugar to something like a smoothie or protein powder. However, if you're using this to add flavor to a dessert like ice cream or a milkshake, this may not be as large of a factor.Overall, this is an excellent peanut butter powder. It mixes in smoothly to liquid with minimal clumping and tastes just like traditional peanut butter. However, it does contain a fair bit of sugar and is light on the chocolate flavor.
