I researched gelatin as a supplement for hair, skin and nails as well as preventative for arthritis, as it runs in my family. I got the two pack because I saw so many Gummie recipes on Pinterest that I wanted to try. So far I've added it every day to my morning protein shake (mixed with a hand blender----a little grainy if it's just stirred). It is tasteless and makes it slightly thicker. I've also made assorted flavors of gummies with it....acai berry, green tea, currant tea, strawberry, etc. I am very pleased with the product so far! I also used it to thicken a cream sauce for pasta when I didn't have any half and half. It worked very well and added very few calories!!! I will use it for that in the future as well. Jury is still out on the benefit for hair, etc.since it is very recent purchase but it makes a no-guilt treat and provides nutrients in my protein shake so I will purchase again. I'm always looking for creative birthday gifts that are consumable and "good for you." I plan to give Gelatin, tea, and a gummy mold for gifts this year.I enjoy a hot glass or two of Zint Gelatin and honey every day. I like that it's odorless and mixes really easily. I put a tablespoon in a glass, add maybe a quarter of a cup of cold water, stir, and let it sit while I boil the kettle. It thickens during that time. I then fill the cup with hot water (maybe an additional cup) and 1/2 a teaspoon of honey. I love the taste, and I know it's good for me. Win-win!I've had a couple of questions sent to me by Amazon about Zint, so I thought I'd include my answer here too:On their website, Zint say that their gelatin is made is made with grass-fed/pasture-raised beef cattle that graze on 100% organic grasslands. They say that “no pesticides, herbicides, or Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) are involved in the raw materials or the manufacturing process.” They also say that they use state-of-the-art machinery to preserve the natural nutrition in their products. For these reasons, and because of the great value of this two-pack, Zint is my gelatin of choice. Not good for making supplement jiggler squares.I made two batches of supplement squares with this gelatin. The taste and smell were unappealing, to express it politely.I had previously used regular jell-o and Knox unflavored gelatin for this, and they worked OK.So I thought this would work just as well and add nutritional value. It was harder to look forward to eating the squares I made. They just didn't taste as good as what I made previously. In the supplement squares, I mix assorted vitamin and amino acid powders, things like ascorbic acid (vitamin C), magnesium, L-Citrulline, and so forth. Granted, it's not the tastiest stuff when made with other gelatin and jell-o products. It's even less tasty when made with this Zint Beeft Gelatin.I make the squares in a square 8x8 glass brownie pan that has a lid. I cut the result into 16 squares. The amounts of supplement powders in a batch are based on 16 x daily dosage for each supplement. So, for example, there are 8 tsp of C, and 8 tsp of L-Citrulline, dissolved in about 16 fluid ounces/2 cups of water + gelatin mix. I normally use about 1.5 times the recommended amount of gelatin to make sure the squares are good and firm. With all the glowing reviews, for the nutritional value and taste for this Zint Beef Gelatin, I thought it was a slam dunk it would be great for this use. Nope. I haven't tried other brands like Great Lakes to say if they would be any better for this use.I know gelatin is good for you. a dr's newsletter i use to get shared how it helps to repair damaged cartilage.I had taken capsules before and was happy with the results.i am not able to find capsules anymore and reading another well known dr's article about the benefits of this particular type of gelatin, I ordered 2 bags of this. It doesn't mix as well as I thought it would and I am not fond of the somewhat beefy flavor ( to me it seemed sort of like stale beef broth) I will order again on the basis I know it is good for my knee, but I recommend you only order one bag to try just to be sure you can drink it (especially since our, non choosy, older dog who has stiff joints doesn't apparently think the "beef" flavor is all that great either..i am going to try and make flavored gummy worms( I just received my gummy worm molds from amazon , they are so cute) or gummy bears with this product ,perhaps those will be easier to ingest ? if that turns out great I will try to come back and add to this,I really like this gelatin because it's from 100% grassfed cows in New Zealand and it's organic. I do believe it's organic, even though it isn't certified on the label. Being labeled organic is extremely expensive and when I looked into how cows are raised in the country of origin, I was satisfied with the quality. I researched several different brands before buying this one because it is the only 100% grassfed organic one available, and at a slightly lower price than the leading competitors (Vital Proteins and Great Lakes). The gummi bears I make with this gelatin in silicone molds come out extremely easily. I also use it daily in tea and have noticed no taste. The only thing I would like to see improve is the gelatin not being derived from the hide of the cow.I read to mix this with cold water but it became more gelatin like for me when I did that. I mix a table spoon in warm water for about a minute. (Smash the bigger powder blobs up against the side of the cup) It gets a little gelatin like on the spoon but if you keep mixing it dissolves. Then I add a tea bag and drink it up no problems. My hair and nails started growing great after starting to use this. My aunt actually asked me how I grew my nails so nice which literally, no one has EVER asked me that before since I had brittle nails all my life. I like how clean this product is and a good value.
