I have used Spirutein for years. It’s packed full of vitamins and minerals , tastes great and makes you feel great!Easy to shake up in a shaker cup with 12 ounces of rice milk and ice. Usually taste great but in last can the flavor was different: tasted like cherry instead of chocolate!Purchased because it's essentially a whole day's meal replacement with the daily amounts of all the various vitamins and minerals. Using it to make smoothies with some powdered peanut butter. The whole canister lasted me about 2 weeks, and that's with me making ~64 ounces of smoothie at one go. This is saving me a ton of money too!The stuff is filling although I feel like the flavor and thickness are a bit thin compared to some other protein powders I've had. The powdered PB and ice do help this though. That said, since using this, I've lost several pounds already.I'm looking forward to continuing to use this product. Enough that I bought 4 new cans. Should lose me a few more pounds and increase my bank account in one go!Edit: As of today, April 27th, 2015, I went to my local distributor and the 2lb chocolate spirutein had NO STEVIA! not sure if this particular distributor moved all the stevia tainted product yet, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel!Original post: Wow, this was my favorite product for a number of years, but this latest reformulation is a disaster. This particular batch was poorly packaged and arrived dented and busted open, so the inside of my box was covered with this new superfine moondust powder consistency that just seems to get everywhere, that aside, I mixed up my usual morning shake and took a sip. The result was this godawful sickening sweet taste that made me think that surely I had somehow gotten the wrong product.Nope, I checked it against my last can of Chocolate Spirutein, all the nutritional information was exactly the same, no additional carbs or sugars. So I checked the ingredient list. Listed at number 11 (out of 40, 41 if you count "love" which this package surely does not contain) is now stevia. I'm fairly certain this new superfine choking dust cloud is the result of them just pouring a ton of stevia into an awesome product, which is a shame.Don't make my mistake, I'm out $40 already, find a new protein powder and find it in a hurry. This will be my last Nature's Plus product purchase. Thanks for losing yet another customer, zero calorie stevia.I have to throw my towel in along with the others who have been completely turned off by the recent change in Spirutein's formula.I, like many others here, had no idea the formula for my beloved Spirutein had been mutated. When I broke the metal seal on my first can of the "new and improved" Spirutein, the powder exploded into my face and left a fine residue of sickly sweetness that made my stomach turn. I knew immediately that something was off; after nine years of drinking Spirutein nearly every morning, I know to my core how my protein powder should look and feel. I kept my fingers crossed as I tentatively mixed the new dusty powder into my almond milk, but with my first sip, I almost wretched. The taste was horrible, and I wanted to cry.The old Spirutein chocolate seemed perfectly balanced to me - a great deal of richness, and just enough sweetness to make me forget I was drinking a protein shake. Now, it has a strange chemical sweetness, and the flimsy consistency of the powder means that I'm forever getting puffs of protein powder on the counter and my clothing when I dump a scoop of Spirutein into my morning shake, no matter how careful I am with the whole scooping process.I have been drinking Spirutein since 2005, when it actually consisted of soy protein. I stuck with it after they changed the soy protein for some weird conglomerations of pea/whatever-else protein. The addition of Stevia makes me feel this sense of sadness and foreboding (like, I have to drink this??) as I make my shake each morning. Spirutein no longer tastes healthy to me, and after buying one more can just to make sure I hadn't gotten a bad batch the first time (which, I see now, many other loyal customers have done!), I am sad to say I am looking for a new protein powder. It won't be easy to say so long to the product that started my journey to fitness. It has been the only steadfast thing I felt I could count on as I struggled to keep my weight steady. I am not enthusiastic about searching for its replacement. Still, this had to be done. It's been grand, and I'll miss you, old Spirutein, but let me be clear that it wasn't me; it was you. Lose my number, unless you go back to your old formula. And just so you know, I'd have stuck with your forever if you hadn't gone and changed on me.In summary, Taylor Swift said it best: "Hey, [Spirutein,] all you had to do was stay."this product is costly no matter where you go but i love the flavor and of course the convenience of delivery. packaging is extremely well done, container individually plastic wrapped and then boxed...no damage! have ordered many times. A+++About ten years ago my dad would stock up on this protein powder and I fell in love with the taste. No yucky, chalky, powder taste and it smells sooo good. I have tummy issues and this is the only protein powder that does not make my stomach ache.Fast forward to now and I took a chance on Amazon having it. They did so I immediately bought three cans. It arrived quickly and I didn't even care that one of my cans was dented. I was just happy to have this back in my life. LOLIt is worth it! Give it a try!
