I really like these bars. They've gotten rather pricey, but I hadn't had my favorite flavor in a while so I splurged. Seller made a great effort to send in a foil insulated bag with frozen ice packs (2) to try and get these to me. It just took too many days. The humidity that formed in the sealed isulated bag pretty much melted the cardboard packaging the bars are in. The inside of the insulated shipping container was quite warm, almost hot inside when opened, and I was home when the delivery service dropped them off. They didn't sit outside on my end. The bars didn't have a chance in this summer's heat. These boxes of bars were a humid soggy mess upon opening. The bars themselves were softer than mashed potatoes. They're cooling in an air conditioned home the last 24 hours, I'll try one tomorrow. I'm sure they'll be fine to eat, but will be a reconstitued mess inside the wrapper. Lesson learned. No mail ordering these in summer.When you are blessed with a fresh batch, consider yourself shined upon by a higher power- I’m telling you it makes all the difference. Unfortunately, in my case, this is once every 6/7 orders. This is the case everywhere I buy them so the mystery may be another never ending glitch in the supply chain across the world…I wrote this after having only 1, so I’ve now added a couple more ⭐️‘S. See Update*~*I eat a lot of different protein bars and I’ve tried other lemon flavored protein bars, but this one tasted awful. I don’t even really know how to describe the taste except that it tastes like chemicals and a strong sugar substitute flavor.UPDATE~Now that I’ve had a couple of them, I actually like them a lot. Idk why I didn’t like them the 1st time; maybe bc they’re a little different than other protein bars in taste & texture & I like to stay under 200 cals w/protein bars but these are bigger and are filling. They have some fiber in them I think.I could eat nothing but these every day. Still miss the Berries and Cream that was produced at one time. There is nothing else like those. Any chance they can be produced again?When these came out I was hook on them for work snacks. They are way too expensive now for me compared to the price I use to buy them for. I switched over to a less satisfying rand that’s cheaper.Don’t order in hot weatherI am gluten free. I used to LOVE Hostess Cupcakes!! I’ve been gluten free for many years now, so for me, these are DELICIOUS. They were NOT cheap. I’ve now found them in my grocery store where they are sold individually for cheaper than what I paid here. IF you have not had a Hostess cupcake and miss them, this is a great dessert option, IF YOU ARE GLUTEN FREE ?(Chunky Peanut Butter)I've loved these things for a long time, at times too much. I think these are the best tasting protein bars on the market, better than the old quest bars. The ''chunky'' peanut butter is the best, the ''creamy'' peanut butter is also good and better than your average protein bar. The ''creamy'' peanut butter bar can more accurately be described as ''chewy,'' and I don't mean that in a bad way, in the way that most (peanut butter) protein bars may be ''chewy'' which ends up being ''tough'' and ''dry'' - the think! creamy peanut butter ends up being a very pleasant nice and soft taste and texture, very much what a ''creamy'' or ''chewy'' peanut butter protein bar SHOULD taste like.The ''chunky'' peanut butter bar, by far my all time favorite protein bar, could more accurately be described as something like ''soft'' - maybe texture-wise something slightly comparable to a brownie or a bar or something? There's a perfect texture and softness that I absolutely love. Which brings me to the taste, in my opinion they taste very good, for a protein bar, and that's an important caveat. They're not going to taste like a dessert. The sugar alcohol is going to be dependent upon the person tasting them. I can sort of taste an alcohol like ''coolness'' aftertaste that I suspect many will not like, but in my opinion it works and is just sweet enough. The taste compliments the texture well. It's hard to describe but I love it.I know some people are sensitive to sugar alcohols, while others find them quite tolerable in terms of digestion, my own experience with most things, and most protein supplements is that as long as I don't have many times more than the 1 serving of any one item that they're usually very tolerable, and the same applies to these protein bars. But people should understand that some people aren't going to tolerate them perfectly. These will fulfill a role as a snack during times of dieting where some kind of chocolate is being craved and allow me to reasonably flex them into my diet without throwing macros completely off track, like adding a bunch of saturated fats or taking out ~20g of protein to fit in something chocolately that may be super high calories, high sat. fat and low in protein. That being said, it's not like this is a unicorn of a health food, and so within the context of a diet becomes a valuable tool in the tool box addressing issues like satiety and hunger etc. Once again though, some people will find the sugar alcohol's actually act like sugar and may spike hunger.A few years ago when I purchased these they always made it to my door in perfect condition. There were some reviews of people getting old bars or melting bars or damaged bars, however my shipment came with a styrofoam cooler/insulator thing with what looked like a bag of ice. The bag of ice was melted and I sort of wonder how much it actually helped as it took a couple days, and I imagine something like dry ice would be better probably? It would last longer and I assume less possibility for moisture? I don't really know, but I thought it was a very nice and thoughtful touch that they are going to that extent to ensure their product arrives in good shape.I used to get these in the USA so was delighted to find them on Amazon. They taste better than similar products.It tasted ok, there are similar types of protein bars with roughly the same macros that taste better. I wont be purchasing this againI would no longer recommend this product. the bars were old and appeared to be moldy. who knows where this stuff is stored an how it is shipped.
